The photographic collection featured on this website was created by Peter R Keating during more than 40 years of travelling the world, never leaving home without his cameras. He started with a Kodak Brownie 620 before acquiring 2 Nikons and a Hasselblad. He did all his own film processing.
Peter never lost an opportunity to photograph aircraft of any type, size and shape, gaining unequalled access to airfields all over the World. The result is an amazing collection of over 120,000 images taken on six continents. Highlights of the collection are many but include a vast array of images of aircraft flown by BOAC, Boeing 707s, Cessna and Beech, rare Douglas DC-3s from South America as well as the rest of the world, many Farnborough Air Shows and Peter’s own favourite manufacturers from the Commonwealth and, in particular, de Havilland Canada.
With a few exceptions the entire collection is black and white. Original negatives still exist and are in excellent condition. Sizes vary from 35mm to medium format. The collection is being catalogued to become available as a searchable database on this website. It is expected that this will take up to five years to complete with new listings being added every month.
